Wimbledon

We were invited to the semi-finals at Wimbledon by the folks from BA. It was our first time there and what a great day! The weather was perfect, sunny and warm (bordering on hot). We started out the day at the Bluebird Cafe on the Kings Road which was all decorated for Wimbledon, right down to green tennis turf and umpires chairs - along with the huge tennis balls!

We took the Tube out to Wimbledon and then a taxi to the courts. After a wander around to explore (tennis courts everywhere) we found BA's hospitality booth and cooled off a bit with some Pimms and lemonade.
After lunch we headed out to watch the tennis. Both of the Williams sisters were playing, Venus on Court 1 and then in the next match, Serena was playing on Centre Court. We were able to see both matches!

I had always thought tennis was a little slow, but not when those two play! Fast, exciting and what a workout!

In between the tennis, we headed back for strawberries and cream. It was a great day, probably the most 'English' day we've had. Would definitely go again!
