A Country of New Homes

The countryside in Ireland is just as beautiful as all the postcards
and stories make it out to be - rolling hills, green mountains, gentle
coastline with both cliffs and long sandy beaches. The people that
we've spoken with have that lilting Irish accent, sometimes so thick I
can't understand what they're saying.

But there's a puzzle here. The houses are all new! Steve said,
"Third world country roads, first world country houses" and he's right
- virtually every house we've seen in southern Ireland is brand new.
They're not just wee houses either, some of them are massive.
American housing looks backward when compared to this place!

Looks like everybody in Ireland has had a new house, where has it all
come from? Were they giving them away with Cornflakes?
